North Island Wildlife Recovery
The North Island Wildlife Recovery Association (NIWRA) is a nonprofit rehabilitation facility located in Errington, BC, dedicated to caring for ill, injured, and orphaned wildlife. Founded in 1985, NIWRA operates on eight acres of beautifully maintained grounds, providing specialized care for a variety of animals, including birds with broken wings and orphaned black bears.
With a mission to reintroduce as many animals back to the wild as possible, NIWRA also focuses on educating the public about wildlife and environmental issues. The center features the largest eagle flight enclosure in Canada, a Museum of Nature showcasing local wildlife, and offers interactive educational programs for visitors.
