Malahat Te'mexw Treaty Association
The Te mexw Treaty Association is a non-profit society comprised of five Coast Salish Nations: Beecher Bay, Malahat, Snaw-naw-as, Songhees, and T Sou-ke. Formed to support one another in negotiating Nation-specific Modern Treaties, the Association is currently in Stage 5 of the British Columbia Treaty Process, focusing on governance, land, resources, and fiscal matters.
With a mission to ensure their citizens are informed and prepared for self-governance, the Te mexw Treaty Association serves approximately 1,864 members across southern and central Vancouver Island. Their logo, designed by the late Chief Rod Modeste, symbolizes the interconnectedness of nature and the importance of stewardship of the land, which is vital to their cultural heritage.
