Lake Babine Nation Woyenne
Lake Babine Nation is the third largest Aboriginal Band in British Columbia, situated 142 miles west of Prince George. With a membership of approximately 2,525, the Nation comprises 27 reserve lands and three communities that are inhabited year-round, as well as two additional communities that are occasionally occupied.
Established in 1957 through the amalgamation of the Old Fort Band and the Fort Babine Band, Lake Babine Nation has a rich history tied to Babine Lake and a legacy formed by its multiple inhabited communities. The region is a significant cultural and social hub for its members, reflecting the traditions and values of its indigenous heritage.
