Kingfisher Interpretive Centre Society
The Kingfisher Interpretive Centre Society (KICS) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization located along the pristine Shuswap River in Enderby, British Columbia. Established over three decades ago in response to the near extinction of salmon stocks, KICS focuses on salmon and watershed restoration through interactive ecological education.
Welcoming thousands of visitors annually, the centre serves as a 10-acre living classroom that fosters a connection between people and the natural world. KICS has been recognized for its community action, receiving the 2021 Nature Inspiration Award from the Canadian Museum of Nature, highlighting the vital contributions of its dedicated volunteers and donors.
