Ten Thousand Villages is a unique retail organization dedicated to connecting consumers with artisans from developing countries, offering ethically sourced products that are crafted using local materials and traditional skills. Each purchase supports fair trade practices, providing artisans with a stable income and enhancing their livelihoods.

Following the closure of Ten Thousand Villages Canada's corporate operations in June 2020, three independently operated stores maintain a licensing agreement with Ten Thousand Villages USA, allowing them to continue using the brand. In addition, three former stores have rebranded but remain committed to the mission of promoting fair trade and uplifting communities through their products.
