The Sawridge First Nation, located at the east end of Lesser Slave Lake in Alberta near the Town of Slave Lake, is an original signatory to Treaty 8 and has established itself as a leader in self-determination and economic development. With a commitment to governance that honors and respects their culture and environment, the nation continues to foster harmonious relationships among its members while valuing customs and traditions.
Adopting its own Constitution on August 24, 2009, the Sawridge First Nation is dedicated to working collaboratively to realize its vision of being an innovative, progressive, and prosperous community of Cree people. The nation remains vigilant in protecting its inherent treaty and other rights for the benefit of present and future generations.
