La Crete is located within the Mackenzie County in Northern Alberta. The La Crete Mennonite Heritage Village is a museum village with close to 30 buildings. It displays local heritage buildings from the surrounding community. The grounds cover 10 acres and are on the original homestead of Henry H. & Susanna Peters. Mennonite families started settling here in 1936, and many more families followed in the coming years.The museum village displays the agricultural lifestyle of the early settlers and includes a shop, a school, flour mill, homes, barns, saw mill, etc... Well worth the visit!
