The East Central Alberta Heritage Society, established in 1997, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historical corridor of the ex-Canadian Northern Railway in Alberta, spanning approximately 125 km between Edberg and Morin. The Society maintains about 141 km of railway corridor, which includes 35 km of active railway rented by a tourism operator, and develops linear parks that showcase historic railway infrastructure while promoting biodiversity.

With a focus on heritage preservation and public recreation, the Society actively manages its properties to ensure they remain accessible for future generations. The 17 km of maintained parkland facilitates public enjoyment of the natural environment and the rich history of the railroads that shaped the region.
