The Claresholm & District Museum is a community history museum located in southwest Alberta, Canada. The Museum offers visitors and residents the opportunity to explore the region’s western Canadian heritage. Knowledgeable staff at the Travel Alberta accredited Visitor Information Centre (open seasonally) are there to help with all travel needs, including regional maps, brochures and booking recommendations. The gift shop offers local handmade arts and crafts, and books written by local authors on regional topics. The Museum site has wheelchair-accessible public restrooms, free Wi-Fi, free RV and bus parking. Stop for a picnic lunch on the grounds and enjoy the beautiful lawns and flower gardens. Grounds include a historic 1912 CPR Train Station, an 8000 sf Exhibit Hall, Claresholm’s first schoolhouse (1903), a 1920s log cabin and a CPR caboose. Exhibits tell stories from Blackfoot culture to the arrival of the railway and growth of the town for over the last 100+ years.
