Nestled in the middle of the Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park, the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation is an outdoor education and research centre dedicated to learning about birds and the boreal forest. This beautiful LEED gold facility is a unique partnership between Alberta Parks and the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory. Experience the exhibit gallery with educational hands on activities, gift shop showcasing local artisans, check out all the green features, or sign up for one of our education programs. The friendly visitor centre staff can also help you plan your stay with plenty of suggestions on things to do in the area. Surrounding the centre as a variety of easy trails including the interpretive Songbird Trail and easy hiking or biking access to the Great Canadian Trip and the laksshore. During the winter, these trails are also set for cross-country skiing with equipment available to rental at the centre.
