Thirty years ago Hans and Edith Pitnauer began a quality revolution at their winery in the little-known Carnuntum wine region. Today Carnuntum is one of Austria’s leading red wine appellations. Countless awards testify to the estate’s rapid development over the last three decades. Edith Pitnauer takes loving care of the estate’s 24 hectares of vineyards. Hans works wonders in the winery, vinifying his renowned Appellation Wines: "Franz-Josef" the winery’s top cuvée, was named in honour of Hans’s ancestors, who laid the foundation of the winery’s modern-day success. "Bienenfresser" is one of the most famous estate wines. Its origin is the appelation Bärnreiser and the Pitnauer's planted their first vineyard for this wine in 1982. The friendly family is always working hard, providing mutual inspiration and carrying on the spirit of this family wine estate. At the beautiful property in the centre of Göttlesbrunn, visitors always receive a warm welcome (by appointment only).
