WE<3 (we love) until 25th August 2024 This exhibition features a selection of high-caliber artworks from the Heidi Horten Collection, curated in three thematic categories that represent the collection's principal content areas: Expressionism, especially in its German variant with artwork by Franz Marc and Emil Nolde. Art from the 1960s and 1970s, with a specific emphasis on U.S., Italian, and German positions by Andy Warhol, Yves Klein and René Magritte. And painting and sculpture in the field of tension between figuration and abstraction with works from Francis Bacon, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Damien Hirst. Visitors of the museum will play a significant role in the exhibition concept.

At the Palais Lobkowitz, just a few steps from the Hofburg Palace, the Theatermuseum conveys a sense of the history of theatre from the late 15th century through to contemporary experimental theatre as well as the vast diversity of theatre genres, showcased here in temporary exhibitions. Take an intimate look behind the doors of a historic Viennese palace, immerse yourself in the world of the Lobkowitz family and discover masterpieces by major Viennese artists. The opulence of the baroque architecture provides a stunning visual experience from the moment you step into the building. A special highlight of the tour is the Jugendstil painting Nuda Veritas, one of the best-known works by Gustav Klimt. Admire this masterpiece and learn more about its meaning and symbolism. Another highlight is the Eroica Hall, named after Beethoven’s celebrated Eroica Symphony, which was performed here for the very first time.
